Overview
Cano’s works capture the beauty, strength, elegance and pride of Latinas and
all women of color. The lush oversized canvases are striking and the large open faces are expressive
and real.
Cano’s work has evolved into a unique style blending acrylics
with oils on large canvases. She has focused on depicting women, including representations of
the Madonna.
Her current series, "Mujeres del Siglo", includes the images of bold, beautiful faces of dark-haired
women. Inspired by her summer experiences spent in Mexico as a child, her
portrayals of elegant women dressed in shawls evoke memories of a romantic era gone by.
