About the Artist

Creating Art is not merely the medium I use for expression, but it is the very essence of who I am. My art explores the multifaceted dimensions of womanhood, culture, and heritage, using them as a form of expression through a lens of both personal and collective history.  I have focused on the reinterpretation of Latino/Latina folk and fine art, redefining these rich traditions in a contemporary form.  I utilize mixed media, giving me the freedom to explore and create dynamic compositions by layering painting techniques, ceramics, beads, and other materials to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.  The process of creating Art is a journey of constant growth. It is a daily lesson, one that has taken hundreds of hours of experimentation, failure, and success.  Creating art is an ongoing dialogue between the mind, the materials, and self-discovery. And when it all comes together, it is a pure joy to manifest a vision into a tangible form.  Through this process, I have learned that art is not only about what I create but also the process of creating the life I want.
